United States is seeing tremendous humiliation. We expect this to continue. We even expect Russia to take over the International Space Station and to have the upper hand in the middle east.
In ancient times, the God of Israel used Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Greece and Rome to humble Israel. Yet, God said that after He used Assyria (for example) to judge Israel, then Assyria in turn would be humbled because of their mercilessness.
All this is part of God being a father who disciplines children for their rebelliousness. God is using people to punish other people. Ouch.
God will also be using people to show mercy and blessing to people. This should come mostly from the minority ("remnant") of believers in the God of Jesus (the God of Israel as well).
